Thank you for your prayers :) some updates
The kidney biopsy results are out, and confirms it as Lupus. Results are slightly positive, and shows 60% of the kidney is inflammed. A new medicine called Cyclophosphamide is being administered to help the kidney recover. The benefits of the drug will only kick in in 1-2 weeks time, but we are praying that the effects will come sooner, and that Shufen will not go through the many side effects of this powerful drug.
Urine output (sorry, but output is very important medically. Hmm just like spiritual fruitfulness) is also increasing, which is a good sign for the kidney. Water balance is one of the two important functions of the kidney. If u recall, there was also water surrounding the heart that is making Shufen breathless and the main reason why she was in the high dependency ward last week. Well the water is almost gone. No more need to pierce a dangerous needle in to drain the water out. Praise God!
The 2nd important kidney function is the clearing of waste. Creatinine waste remains high at 400+ but doctors are happy enough with the output, so the next round of dialysis has been postponed until necessary. Our prayer is that this necessity never comes again, amen! :)
We are preparing ourselves for the second stage of the battle, as it would seem long and stretched out. No longer in the sprinting mode but the stamina mode. Praying for us now, would probably seem a bit weary and repetitive. I can only urge u to remember us in prayers. Few days ago, Shufen and myself felt really uncomfortable spiritually (something like a "spiritual attack"). We had to pray and rebuke in Jesus' Name, and continue to be vigilent and not fall asleep during battles.
We have so far spent 18 days in SGH (which is also our third hospital stay this year) and I expect we will be here for another 2 wks at least. God is good and we have changed to our rightful B2 ward today (:P yes we had gotton more by paying less). We are currently right next to a window view, even slightly bigger space than in Mount Alvernia, with the nice sound of the water fountain right outside.
God is good, and all the time. As He allows what we are going through now, He will grant us the strength to go through it. Hallelujah!

p/s: Thank God that sis Rachel has discharged and He has allowed her to recover miraculously. The Lord is good and has spared us further anxiety. Thank you Jesus! o:-)
