Today marks the day where shufen stayed in SGH for exactly one month. The doctors are pushing almost everything to the max today. Besides the daily medication of steroids, BP & water drugs etc, Shufen went through blood dialysis and the kidney dialysis plus also blood transfusion. Tonight she will be given her first dose (prob once weekly for the next 4-6 wks) of a new powerful drug called rituximab. With this new medication, the doctors hope to finally suppress the agressive lupus.
Pls help to remember shufen in prayer, that she will have no side effects from this new drug and that it will work well in her body. Not forgetting also the chemo drug (cyclophosphamide) given 2 wks ago, that it will also kick in and shows its strength in suppressing the lupus.
