Shalom, shufen was supposed to be discharged last week, but the doctors found a blood clot somewhere near the right shoulder. There were some suspicions initially that it could be due to part of the blood plug that broke inside the blood vessel, moving closer & closer to the heart. This caused quite a commotion among the nurses as they tried to find out who was the last person that removed the blood plug. The removal of the plug happened exactly on the day that shufen had a slight fall in the bathroom (and on that particular day, many nurses and doctors were there to ask about the fall). A few days later after another thorough scan, the clot could not be found. Praise God! The nurses were relieved too :)
We are hopeful that this coming sat, there might be a good chance of discharge, if the scans turn out to be well. Though daunted a bit by the fact that there will be huge challenges ahead for the longer term treatment, it was still something to look forward too. There will still be thrice weekly visits to the dialysis centre, 4hrs each, plus regular hospital follow ups by the SLE and Renal doctors. It would be trying as the angelic SGH nurses would no longer be around, and somehow shufen and I would have to manage on our own.
Still being almost 4 months away from home, is a challenging ordeal for a mum with 2 young kids. Though the healing is not complete yet, we continue to pray & be hopeful that God will hasten this day.
Thanks for remembering us, we are going through a deep valley experience. Almost like death of a vision experience encountered by biblical king david acting like a madman, moses fleeing after the murder, or joseph being sold as a slave. Our prayers are that we will go through these testings with God's presence, strength and protection; and rise back up in His timings. Hallelujah with thanks! :)
