Another round of IVIG

Met up with Dr Kee on Friday, and the antibodies though have fallen from the previous round of IVIG, were still on high levels which are not suitable for transplant now. Hence we have agreed with Dr Kee to take the safer option of going for a second round of IVIG to push the antibodies levels lower. Currently some antibodies levels are almost 11K MFI (antigen B54). It would be at a more comfortable level around 2K MFI to start the plasmapheresis. Ideally of course would be 0 MFI, which would have zero probability of rejection.
Shufen would be hospitalised for 2 days in the last week of Oct for this round of IVIG, and of course the transplant dates would be pushed backwards for 1-2 months. Looks like we are looking at a time-frame of Dec-Jan2013 transplant operation, if all things goes well.
Though a slight disappointment that there is "no miracle" seen, we give thanks that at least we will have time to spend with the family in Nov-Dec. Jedidiah will be going to school (Sengkang Methodist Children Centre) to make his uniform, and be familiarised with the place. Come Jan 2013, he will be ready for school in Nursery 2 :)
